I can't believe it is really April 23, 2009. Where did the time go?? In the last 5 months we have been busy, busy, busy. We celebrated Christmas here at home, Mom and Dad Greer came to visit. Kaitlyn, Tanner and Vincent all made good use of their Bogus Ski passes, as did I. On February 13, I celebrated my 40th Birthday.... I had the best Birthday ever. I had lots of family and friends come from near and far to help me celebrate with a big party at my good friend Paula's house. It was an 80's theme so everyone came dressed in their big hair and spandex, it was the best. I am truelly blessed with great family and friends!!

We are finally starting to come out of Winter...this his been the longest winter ever, I am ready for some sunshine!! Ken has been busy with his new company, he is the Service Manager for a company called Shilo Sprinklers, they are a Fire Sprinkler company that decided to branch out into other areas of Fire Protection and so Ken is spearheading that little adventure. I am still at the airlines doing my thing and keeping busy with the kids and Grandkids. Amber turned 21 in February and her and Matt and the Kids are all doing well. Matt is working at UPS and is also doing some work at Shilo with Ken. Hayden and Sophie are getting big and keeping Amber and Matt on their toes!! Hayden turned 2 in December and Sophie will be 1 in May. Jonathan is dating a cute girl named Ashley and she has gotten him really involved in horses and he is enjoying that and trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up! Kaitlyn is busy with school and is playing LaCrosse, I wish I knew and understood more about the sport....I just stand on the sidelines and smile and clap and pretend I know what I am smiling and clapping for!! Tanner has been working diligently on scouting stuff, he will be working on his Eagle scout project this summer, we are so proud of him! Vincent is anxiously awaiting football sign ups and can't wait for scout camp. My new goal is to stay up to date with my blog and blog at least once a month, that is not an unobtainable goal is it?

Tis the Season

So a lot has taken place the last 2 weeks... On the 27th of November, Ken and I celebrated 21 years...woohoo we made it!!! This was also Thanksgiving, where we shared it with my Parents at their home in Southern California. I have not spent a Thanksgiving at home in 13 years, it was nice. For my anniversary Ken bought me a Ford Expedition..Love It!! While we were in California, we were able to attend the wedding of Ken's niece Candice to Robby. It was nice to see everyone and to get to visit. It was a whirlwind trip but we even managed to get a couple of trips to In N Out Burger in. Ken's last day with the City of Boise was December 3rd. He is starting a new venture that he is very excited about, with a company Called Shilo Fire Sprinklers. He will be heading up a whole new fire division. The City has been good to him and he has made many friends, but it is time to move on to bigger and better things. We have hit the Christmas Season Head on and we are in full swing. Before starting all of the parties, we were able to acknowledge Tanner for his scouting achievements .. he is well on his way to Eagle Scout...Good for him. We attended Kens company party on December 6th and My company party was December 7th. Amber and I took the Kids to see Santa on the 9th.. Sophie didn't mind but Hayden was scared to death. On the evening of the 9th, Tanner, who's real name is Clark Griswold... was being impatient about Christmas lights, so he climbed on the roof to get the job done....he had surgery on both of his legs just four weeks ago, so probably not a good idea for him to be on the roof..ya think... any whoo he fell, thank goodness he didn't fall off, but none the less he fell. They think he tore his ACL ...I feel so bad for him, he has been through so much, and he never complains...he was a little upset when he found out his snowboard season has come to and end before it even started. We find out Monday if he will need surgery... if he does need surgery they won't be able to do it until December 23...yuck!!!! With all of this craziness going on I haven't even started my Christmas shopping..shame on me!!! With that being said I am looking forward to spending the Holidays with Family and Friends and remembering the true meaning of Christmas!

So I tried this new editing program that my friend Natalie told me about (Thanks Nat) and I put a collage together of our home..I think our home says a lot about us. I love to decorate, and my favorite thing in the whole world is at the end of the day when my kids are all tired and the house is clean and the candles are lit and we get to just enjoy each others company. I love my home and feel very blessed to have such great neighbors and live in such a great ward.

So it has been a pretty mellow week compared to the last couple of weeks. Ken got a new job, he is thrilled about this opportunity. Ken will be starting a new division of Shilo Sprinklers, he will be starting a Fire division. He is very excited about it. We celebrated Friday night with dinner at Barbacoa with Bryan and Lynde Johnson. Vincent had his wrestling tournament on Tuesday night, he did well and has decided he likes it enough to want to continue. They rearranged our ward boundries and we now have quite a few more young men and women, Kaitlyn and Tanner went to an activity on Wednsday night and got to meet some of the new members, they had a great time. Thursday night, I was a bad Mom and allowed my children to stay up so we could go see the midnight showing of "Twilight" it was awesome. They made it through school the next day with only about 3 hours of sleep, they said it was well worth it.

Tanner had surgery this morning..he is sleeping so I thought I would get caught up. Tanner broke his leg in April while we were in Salt Lake at a wedding...he was skateboarding!!! he had to have screws put in because of where and the type of fracture he had. Lets back up 9 years ago....when Tanner was about 5, he started limping, didn't really complain about any pain but walked funny. I finally took him to the doctors and after about 6 months of back and fourth with Doctors and Specialist they did a bone scan and discovered he had "Perthes Disease".. in a nutshell, he lost the blood supply to his femur bone, causing the femoral head to die off, it grew back but it grew back on the outside of his hip socket...soooo when Tanner was 7 they did surgery on his leg (by the way it is his right leg!!) they cut his femur (OOOOOHHHHH OUCH) and rotated it back into his hip socket and and put a metal plate in...The plate was removed the next year and Tanner has annual follow ups with his Doctors... Tanner has never been able to participate in sports because of this. He has become one heck of a snowboarder and kneeboarder though. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, Tanner had a follow up with the Doctor who repaired his broken leg, while at this appointment I asked the Doctor to check his hipsocket to see how things were doin...he said things looked good but Tanners right leg is 1 inch shorter than his left leg, so today when they took the hardware out of his right knee, they put two metal plates in his left knee to stunt his growth in that leg so the right leg can hopefully catch up. I feel so bad for him, there is nothing worse than when your kid is sick or hurting...Ken had nose surgery last week, what a painful surgery for him!!!! I am hoping that this is the end of all of our medical anomolies. In the past 10 years, Tanner has had 4 sugeries, Amber has ruptured her spleen, had her appendix and galbladder removed, been diagnosed with Gastroperesis, and had a major stomach surgery, Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Gastroperesis, had major stomach surgery in August. Ken has had 15 surgeries, this includes 2 total knee replacements and a nose job...woohoo, and a partridge in a pear tree!!! I complain alot and feel sorry for myself because I have had to play nursemade to all of them during this time, but the reality is we are so very blessed that everyone has been able to get better. I have often felt that the past couple of years of my life have felt like a slow moving train wreck, and most people just slow down to stop and take a look. We have been so blessed with a wonderful family who is patient, great ward members who have brought us meals and wonderful friends who make me laugh when it seems like there is nothing to laugh about, and most importantly my Heavenly Father for giving me the strenghth I didn't know I had. Hope all is well with everyone, we are still just pluggin away.

Taking family pictures is HARD work, my parents flew in from California and my sister Tami flew in from Arizona. It is not very often that you get us all together, especially lookin half way decent, but we did it!!!!
